This updated firmware includes support for new 2"x6" and 3"x6" print sizes. 
Note: Firmware is only compatible with new Windows Driver V3.4.0.2 or later.

Installation Instructions

Verifying the Current Firmware Version

  1. Make sure that the power for the printer(s) is on, and “Ready” appears on the display.
  2. On the operator panel of the printer, press [Menu] until "Main Firm = " appears with the current Main firmware version.
  3. For the 6850: If the display "Main Firm =" shows "678", or "878" you have the current firmware and don't need to update.
  4. For the 6800: If the display "Main Firm =" shows "259", "359"  or "459" you have the current firmware and don't need to update.
  5. If the display shows an older firmware number, install the new firmware following the instructions below.
  6. Make sure to return the printer to Ready mode by pressing the Paper Rewind/Clear button in the front panel.

Installing the Firmware

 IMPORTANT

Do not unplug the USB cable or press any keys on the keyboard during the firmware upgrade.

  1. Download and run the .exe file above. 
  2. When the WinZip Self-Extractor dialog opens, browse to a folder to unzip the file and click the Unzip button. The files will be extracted to your system. Note: The default Unzip folder is:  "C:\Kodak".
  3. Navigate to the extract folder location selected and open the folder "KODAK Photo Printer 68XX Firmware V7_43".
  4. Open "update.Bat".
  5. "F/W download complete. Press any key to continue..." appears when the firmware installation is complete. Press any key on the keyboard to close the window.
  6. Verify that the firmware is installed. Follow the above instructions for "Verifying the Current Firmware Version."
  7. Install the firmware on each additional 68XX Printer that requires the update.
